Monday Blues: Does it really exist?

Welcome all!! Good news is ‘It’s not MONDAY today’ hence I decided to pick up this topic to blog my opinion when Monday strikes down.

If you ask, ‘Did I ever felt like Monday Blues?? ‘ Answer is yes and no both. The concept of Monday Blues was new to me some 10 years ago or more than that when I had started working. Though my initial job was with BPO-Outsourcing where I used to work late night shifts so for me everyday was almost similar as I used to get up late. So I doubt I ever felt that. Nor I felt more when I started working as an HR in the companies. Initially it was all good but then eventually not always but sometimes or rarely I used to feel boring on Monday and felt like need to do something to keep my blues out. These days I don’t really feel it anymore. This led me to thinking whether really Monday Blues exist. As the way I look at it I doubt.

Let’s first talk about what is Monday Blues? We have lots of memes and people start talking about it since Saturday night post party or may be Sunday mid day. Monday Blues-a negative feeling on that day as its a start of the new week which makes us feel gloomy and boring. We start our day grumpy or we start stressing it out from Sunday midnight. Let’s say, when we have to go for movie or late night meet or some other activities, our mind will automatically triggered to concept of Monday Blues and we will say, lets leave early as tomorrow is Monday. For the professionals who are strict professionals, for them Monday Blues is because of meetings and updates and all that crap which comes along. For mothers its about their kids going to school. So somewhere or the other we feel the blues. But the question is -Does this really exist or its our mind game or some cooked up stroy.

The answer to it is again Yes and No. Yes it exist but so do we have for other days as well. For person who is suffering from depression all days are Monday Blues. No it doesn’t as we can conditioned our brain to avoid those feelings and divulge is to some productive use. So from where does this Monday blues came from?? It came from America in 1830s & was referred to the hungover state of labour workforce. Colour blue resembles to depressed state of mind which I will oppose as its soothing color provided which type of blue you are using it. So if we drink too much on Sunday then yes we will feel Monday Blues. What about if we drink on any other day-wont we feel the same? Except it wont be Monday but it can be Wednesday or Thursday or Friday blues.

The point is, if we enjoy our Sunday or any other day before blue, we can avoid this state of feeling. Not to mention, we need to continue to what we are doing as a part of our daily activities like gymming, journaling, walking, listening to music and so on. Apart from that, our diet plays an important role on our moods. If we are going to eat less, next day will led us to weakness and if we eat too much it will be the opposite. Most important is our mindset. When we sleep a day before it, in what state of mind we are sleeping- are we happy, angry, grumpy, slosh, drunked and so on, it will get carryforward to the next day. So yes before sleeping ensure your mind is clear of all these negative baggage. So when we wake up our mood is fresh and looking forward for the week or day ahead. Another important thing is to stop going through those Monday Blues memes which indirectly make you gloomy. Too much of such dump is bad for your mental health. We may think that those memes are funny or elevates our mood but in reality it doesn’t and makes you more depressive. It doesn’t mean that you to see or listen to all motivational talks or proverbs or memes as it wont help you either unless you are happy inside or unless you really do not think of it as a blue.

In a nutshell, Monday Blues is a mindset which we have adopted from certain concept. We can be happy & forward looking for the day or we can cry out the entire day & talk about it as gloomy & blue. Its upto us what we have to choose. Lastly to the employers or the bosses who thinks Monday Meeting is great way to get out blues from your staff-well its not. They feel more gloomy and will eventually lose interest into their jobs.

One of favorite line which I like is ‘If you really do what your heart desires, there wont be any Monday Blues.’

P.S: Taking too much coffee/caffeine wont help you to overcome your Monday Blues. So be watchful on what you eat or drink..

Chaos all around!!

Hello Fellas,

Long time no heed from my end. I decided to take a long pause to figure out what I should be doing. Well, I couldn’t figure it out though. Hence decided to take one step at a time and start with it again.

I am sure all of us are glued to this new type of pandemic that has made the world look crazy. People are getting more scared then they might have ever got due to war. Yes, you are right, we are talking about Covid-19 aka, Corona Virus which has started in 2019 in China Wuhan and now it has reached almost all the continent and countries. However, the death rate has not been high but humans have been affected far. Well, I am not here to write about what you need to do or how you will be protected and all as you have already got lots of instructions from your respective governments and monarch.

My purpose to write this blog and that also after a brief pause is quite different, I have alway choose to look at things in a different way. Today I am writing this in a state where I am jobless and left with INR 550/ rs with me with a dog to take care of. Though I am not worried about how I will survive the rest of the month or when will I get another job to take care of my dog. Forget about me. For the first time in my life, I love this chaos. Somehow in this chaos, I am searching peace. Peace is the most difficult thing to get nowadays. You can get other things, but peace is absolutely not possible. You may go to religious places or may join meditation courses or do yoga or take pills or wear stones and crystals and drink it off, but in the end, you will still feel empty.

So how do we embrace this chaos and look for light? At the moment the energy around us is less helpful to us and we are not able to raise the vibrations as well. So what we should do to raise our vibrations along with our immunity.

The first thing we have to do is to accept that there is chaos in the world. I won’t say Human race is in danger, but I would say the human race is not prepared to face such pandemic if once again it will strike in another form. Even though how civilized or rich or educated we are, we are still way far to face this sudden outrage of biological war. Since countries are trying to find the cure and it may take a year to get dispatched to the rest of the world, all we can do is not to get panic and start developing negative thoughts.

This is the year of Judgement. Our actions will be judged and so our deeds. All I can ask you is to maintain a positive and realistic attitude. Follow the safety and precautionary measures as said by the Institutions, Government and health care professionals. Do not get carried away or sweep away into any kind of false news or rumor. Use this time to introspect, reflect and rejuvenate.

It’s a time to go inward and change what is no longer helping you and your lifestyle. Even though its small things or big things, even if we have to discard a few things from our life, let’s do it.  It’s a time to learn new things and implement those which we have though we will do it during our retirement. Social distancing will help you to start thinking about yourself and looking after yourself. We have always been prey to our jobs, money, career, and friends to please, materialistic success and so on. However, it’s of no good to us now, when we fall prey to this pandemic. What’s the point of have iPhone 11 and then we get to know we are detected with COvid-19 and we may survive or we may not. What’s the point of having a great career and bank balance, but we cannot save our near and dear ones. What’s the point of having almost everything but to get those things we had compromised our lifestyles and health which indirectly will invite covid-19 as our immunity os fucked up.

Well, I am not scaring you, but I am showing you the reality. This chaos needs to be taken as a lesson for our life now. We should rearrange our priority so we know where we are heading to. Use this time to write down your thoughts, take up the brush and start painting which you thought you wanted to. Use this phase to develop your skills and talents. Love this chaos as its the best and will bring best in you.

We do not know what future holds nor we know how long this mess will be there and what repercussions will be there in the economy, human life and so on. We may not live the same lifestyle we had been living, it may be best like it was or it will be worst or different. Most of the people might lose jobs like how I lost, but that doesn’t mean our spirit is lost. All you have to do is learn from this chaos. Your life may be disrupted, but its the time to love this tower (in tarot card) and change the path of life.

Increase your vibration to the spirit and to the universe. Spend time with yourself. Meditate if possible. Listen to music, read books which will help to change your perspective. Do not indulge in negative thought processes and pessimism. Get yourself involved in healthy eating. You were trying to cut the crabs now it’s the time to do it. Journal your thoughts. Let it flow out. Do whatever it takes to increase your vibrations even though it involves shutting your cell phones for 2 weeks or more. Read-only knows news which will bring a smile or makes you feel empowered rather than those which gives you scary look or situations. All you have to do raise your vibrations and connect with the divine and not with the material and superficial world.

Why make New Year’s Resolutions when You can make Wish-List!!!

 

Welcome Fellas!! Happy New Year to All!! New Year New Beginnings keeps going into our mind for next couple of days. Along with this enthusiasm we are also very much excited to jot down our ‘New Year Resolutions’ and make an attempt or try hard to keep up with our resolutions. Have you ever thought instead of setting ‘Resolutions’ and trying hard to keep up with why not make a ‘Wish-List’ to achieve the same?
Yes you read it right. ‘Why Not Set Wish-Lists?’ The reason why I have come up with this is that from my own personal experience and also when I have observed others, who have always been struggling to keep up with their resolutions. Simple things like going to a gym or reducing ones weight becomes difficult for them to keep up with. Will all enthusiasm people start going to gym for few days and then they give up or would say unable to go. Same it goes with reducing weight where one starts with having diet food or keep up diet and all but after some days they can’t resist to have junk food and other food which they shouldn’t be eating. After analyzing this, I came with the idea of making Wish-list instead of setting any ‘Resolutions’.
There are multiple factors or reasons involved when we use ‘Wish-List’ instead of ‘Resolutions’. Basic difference between the two is the former is something you want to do and will do sooner or later while the later one is something you are been forced to do it because of either peer pressure or because of your low self esteem or because you have a dirty habit of comparing yourself with others and so on. When stop forcing yourself for ‘Resolutions’ you will find simple act like going to gym as not forceful but out of your willingness to go. I complete agree that it becomes hard to go everyday or let say to get everyday at 6am and go for a jog and so on. Instead of that it would be really great if I just say this year I would like to look more beautiful then last year and keep myself fit, instead of writing ‘Resolutions’ like I would like to reduce my weight to so and so kgs/pounds. Similarly, when we jot down our resolutions like I would not be drinking or smoking this year will have hardly any effects on us except for few days. Instead we should write it ‘I would like to keep my lungs and stomach healthy so it becomes helpful to me in long run’.
Once you divert your find to free and positive things you will feel great from inside. You will feel motivated to do things and will give your best to complete it. You will not involve in comparison and will not develop low-self esteem which are more harmful then anything. I would rather say ‘Slow Poison’. Secondly, when you develop ‘Wish-List’, you concentrate into it and figure what else you can do in lines with it. Let say for example one would like to travel in this year which is their part of ‘Resolutions’ but when it come to actual travelling they are unable to go because of their work, health, family issues, financial issues and so on. Instead if we say this year I would like to visit xyz place, how would you proceed? Let say we are unable to visit that place in this year, but atleast we will make an attempt to visit places which are near to us and thus begin the journey of explorations and travelling. We will develop that confidence that yes we can go and explore. We will start planning for the rest of the ear which places are there to explore apart from the one that its there in the list. You will become more financially secured as you want to visit that place. So through one ‘Wish-lists’ you are exploring other unknowingly.

Let’s now take another example of getting rid of bad habits. I have been trying to stop drinking which I am been doing it since past 12 years. Any thing happens whether it is good moment or bad moment I would grab a drink either on the rocks or with coke. A point came when my liver started reacting to my this addictions which eventually led me to destroy my appetite. Today I cant eat the way I used and definitely cant drink. So I decided instead of forcing myself to make a resolutions of not drinking, I decided to keep ‘Wish-list’ of keeping my ‘Liver and Stomach’ health and fit. So I started with juices, salads and low oil food. I became more aware about what I am eating and from where I am eating. I completely stopped eating road side food or from anywhere even though it looked tempting. I never needed a single day as Cheat day where people do it when they go to gym. I became more organic but following Ayurveda rather than Allopathy medicines. More focused on Green teas rather then milk tea and coffee. Then I enrolled myself into gym and started with low exercise just to keep myself fit. So in one ‘Wish-list’ I came up with mini Wish-list. Now whenever I feel down, instead of going for a drink, I just go to Starbucks or near a sea or read a book or would sleep just to forget what happened and let it go. By following this, my habit of drinking got stopped to 80% which was 100% in the past. I still go to the bar to watch football match, but I order mocktails or if i feel like drinking, I only drink wine once in 3 months.

So I would recommend all of you to start jotting down ‘Wish-List’ instead of ‘Resolutions’ as with ‘Wish-List’ it will not only help you to achieve what you are looking at with the right mindset, but it will also help to discover hidden gifts or talents which are coming to you as a ‘Blessings in Disguise’.

Tomorrow Never Comes!!

Hello Everyone!!. After long time, I am back with the new blog of mine. This time I am with abstract topic.

“Tomorrow Never Comes” is a song, proverb. How it occurred to me was a surprise as I never that there was a song with this proverb. The only reason why I came up with this topic was my own procrastination. Everyday I used to think that I will write blogs but I would land up with nothing and used to push it for next day. This kept continuing for a while. When one fine day I just thought what if ‘Tomorrow Never Comes’ and what if I never get a chance to write and share it to the world? That made me to write on it.

We all know that Future is unpredictable. We don’t know what Tomorrow will bring. So we try our best to enjoy today. Most of us do fail in this journey as we believing in “Giving Up” rather than overcoming it. So what needs to be done to get out of our boundaries and enjoy each moment that we are blessed it. Not only this we make best use of the opportunity that we have received today instead of pushing it for tomorrow.

Now let’s logically talk about “Tomorrow”. Frankly there is nothing call as “Tomorrow”. Simply the day we calling “Tomorrow” will become today for us and “Today” will become “Yesterday” and this “Tomorrow” will become “Day after Tomorrow”. If these things are clear in our head than it becomes too easy for us to put aside our laziness and start with our work. Not only this, let me share about the emotional side of humans. When we fall in love we prefer to say to the person as fast as possible. There are some people who wait for the perfect moment. Well there is nothing call as ‘perfect moment’. What if that ‘perfect moment’ never comes? In that case we won’t be able to tell that person how much they mean to us or how much we love them.

Seeing the past events that are occurring globally, our life is constantly at the brick of sword. Either we are struck with natural death or through calamities or through some unforeseen.  We ourselves don’t know what’s next? I am not being pessimist about it. Well I am grateful whenever I see the next day and consider myself fortunate about it. The whole point here is to drive my reader’s attention that if we are being procrastinating too long on things that are important to us and useful, let’s not push aside to do it later. Let’s not say that we got time to do things at later stage. If we really want to do it let’s do it at that moment instead of waiting for a moment to occur or create a moment. When we talk about opportunities we still procrastinate. So let’s not keep it for something that we really don’t know whether it will occur or not.

The best example I can give is about our health and fitness. We really do not take it too seriously. We take it either someone else wants us to be like that or we want to fit in their set description or when someone has pin point our health which we felt quiet offensive. Honestly we don’t do it because we want to do it. It’s only when external factors come into picture that’s where we get up and do it. Same goes with when we decide to quit smoking or drinking or drugs,

To sum it up I would say “Procrastination” is the mother of all crimes. Let’s not become victim of it and do it when we really got to do it instead of pushing it for “Tomorrow” as “Tomorrow Never Comes” It’s always “Today” and No “Yesterday”.

Whether it is to confess someone about your mistakes or want to tell someone how much you love them or want to start with the hobby that you have kept aside since long. Just get up and start going for it.
